From Small Beginnings to Award Winning Micro-Brewery

The UK is somewhat spoiled with the choices of beers available, with a good number of them being international award winners. Naturally some beers are better than others, and while you might already have a favorite beer, there are some you simply must try before your time on Earth comes to an end. The following list includes beers considered to be the best the UK has to offer in 2017. With National Beer Day (June 15th) fast approaching why not try them all and see what you think.

Barrell & Sellers Best Bitter 4.5%

The combination of local hops and crystal malt give this beer its wonderful rich malty flavor.

Frodsham Brewery Buzzin’ 4.3%

This golden bitter has a great fruity flavor with a very subtle hint of honey. Pleasant flavor with a dry finish.

Fuller’s London Porter 5.4%

This rich, malty Porter ale is a classic example, and will go with just about any food you care to have a beer with.

Harvey’s Blue Label 3.6%

Malty and sweet, but not too sweet, this is the perfect session beer for any time of the year.

Ilkley Brewery Joshua Jane 3.7%

The combination of Columbus with Amarillo hops certainly contributes to the very pleasant taste of this rich, nutty beer.

Islay Ales Saligo 4.4%

This golden beer has a subtle citrus note, largely due to the combination of wheat, pale and lager malts used during the brewing process.

Late Knights Worm Catcher 5%

A delightfully flavor-filled pale ale with just the right balance of bitterness and fragrance, and a hint of bite.

Meantime Raspberry Wheat 5%

The addition of raspberry puree is what makes this light wheat beer incredibly refreshing but sweet.

Thornbridge Breweries Jaipur IPA 5.9%

This incredibly smooth beer has plenty of zest and spice to its honeyed flavor.

Windsor & Eton Brewery Conqueror 5%

With a wonderfully refreshing sharp bite, this black IPA has the entire rich malty flavor you would expect to find in a Porter or dark ale.

So there you have it. 10 great UK beers you absolutely must try. No need to wait until National Beer Day either. Chances are you will find at least one of the ten will be a winner and likely to find its way onto your list of favorite beers.
